An early film- mostly an experiment in making an unchanging object appear to change. The head was mounted on a spindle, with a camera in a rolling chair orbiting it, the way the moon orbits the earth. Beyond the film camera and head, there was a ring of 10 lights, some with filters, and at each light there was a person stand with a large piece of cardboard- when shooting started, the people variously blocked and shone the lights- The end result being an object, that, while not changing, appears to be perpetually melting- or so some said.
The narration was lifted from a book (can you tell which one? It was popular) The narrative subject seemed to fit the visual image.
